Tulip Foxtrot is an elegant variety boasting large, fully double, bowl-shaped flowers in marbled pink and white tones. These lightly fragrant blooms ooze sophistication and darken as they mature through spring, creating a changing floral display for beds, borders, and patio pots.

Available from early September to mid-December, these 11-12 sized Tulip bulbs are relatively simple to grow and care for. The ideal time to plant them is from September to October in pots or mid-October December (after the first frost) in beds and borders. Choose a sheltered, sunny spot and dig a hole around 20cm deep in well-draining soil. Position the bulb in the hole and backfill with soil, gently firming down as you go, then water in well. Leave 10-15cm between bulbs to afford space for the roots to develop.

During the growing season, Tulips benefit from applying a high-potash fertiliser to help encourage an abundance of flowers from April to May. When the flowers begin to fade, deadhead spent blooms then allow the plant time to die back completely before removing the foliage. The bulbs can then either be dug up and stored for planting the next autumn or left in the ground to flower in the same place the following year.
