Gladioli or sword lilies are bulbous perennial. The tall pikes of flowers are ideal for themiddle of the border. ‘Black star’ is a tall variety, reaching 1m high and producing dark burgundy flowers.
Plant the corms in spring, in well drained compost/soil. Cut back in Autumn once the foliage has fully turned yellow. It is best to lift the corms and overwinter them in a frost-free area.
